Bedtime Snackit Reading

{Posted in Books, Events ~ April 16th, 2012}

We enjoyed bringing Bedtime Snackit: Snackit Adventuresto Grassroots Bookstore this past weekend. The crowd was small, but the response was big. What a joy to see the light and curiosity in the eyes of a little girl reading my book for the first time. This is what it’s all about. :)

Get your copy of Bedtime Snackit today, and see the light spark in your little one’s eyes. Want some real life snackits to go along with the book? Contact me today to place an order! Hand felted from all natural wool, my little snackits are a delight and cost just $5 plus a small shipping/handling fee. I will also be posting this coloring sheet available as a free download over at www.MirandaRMueller.com soon. I started my illustration career as a child, filling the pages of a wild horse coloring book with a small set of colored pencils. I am still using colored pencils today, though my collection has grown to epic proportions! *New* You can order signed copies of our book! Neato!

The Latest

{Posted in Baby Name Art, Books, Events ~ April 4th, 2012}

Oh what a flurry the studio is these days! I’m on the verge of finishing a new book, Polly Has Patience using a slightly different style than my previous books. I’m very excited about it! Along with that book project, i’ve been working on some original illustrations, including this gem for a previous client’s newest baby, Jack. Isn’t this great?

Even more exciting news has developed in the past month: I haven’t just been working in two dimensions! I announced my newest venture on my other blog last week: mini-felted sculptures. I’ve been focusing on corgis lately, because corgis are worth focusing on, but more fuzzy critters will be found both at my other blog, Pocket Pause and my Etsy shop soon. In the meantime, here are some of the cuties coming i’ve been working on lately. One of them is headed to France today!

On top of all this in-studio action, i’m also excited for an upcoming book reading of Bedtime Snackit at the local Grassroots Bookstore in Corvallis next Sunday at 11:30. Hint: there are going to be free coloring sheets and some ‘real life’ snackits present, so you really don’t want to miss it. :)

“Right about midnight, Shaina heard a small, tiny noise from the corner of her room, behind the dresser. She held oh so still and only looked with one eye….”

Pet Portraits for Editor’s Choice!

{Posted in Donations, Giveaway ~ October 17th, 2011}

I have exciting news! The Daily Corgi (one of my very favorite blogs) is hosting their annual Halloween costume contest and I’m proud to be offering the Editor’s Choice prize this year!

The Daily Corgi is a place for all things corgi, from Pembroke to Cardigan, mixes and more. Our pup, Pocket entered the costume contest last year: she went as a chicken, which she already thought she was. I made the costume for her and she loved wearing it as much as we loved looking at her in it. She didn’t win the contest, but we’re not sore losers at all. I’m offering a 5×7 custom pet portrait for the lucky winner (and his/her human). Choose from a finished illustration style, or a more whimsical and sketchy style. The prize can also be used to apply towards a more expensive purchase (such as an 8×10 or 11×14). Below are illustrations 1. of my horse, Misty and dog, Amber: both deceased and 2. our little Pocket pup.

Choose from a tight, outlined style

Or choose a more sketchy and whimsical style

I’m also proud to announce that I’ll be donating $5 to benefit Corgi Aid from every purchased referred from the Daily Corgi until the end of the year. So check out the blog, enter your furry friend and I hope you’re the winner! If not, be sure and get that promo code to use for your next purchase and help out some corgis in need. Get on over there and check it out! (Even if you don’t have a corgi to dress up, it’s worth checking it out)

Art Sale and Auction!

{Posted in Fine Art ~ April 20th, 2011}

Exciting news – my husband and I are moving back to Oregon! Woo hoo! In an attempt to reduce the amount of artwork I have to pack and ship, while also increasing my bank account to help pad the woes of driving a 9 mile per gallon moving van across 5 or so states, I’m happy to announce an online art sale and auction!  Bidding will be open until June 3rd, followed by an in person art sale at my home studio for local friends and clients. Anyone in the continental USA is invited to bid, shipping will be added at cost with no ‘handling fee.’   I have oil paintings, prints, original illustrations and more ready to find a new home!

I will do my best to post images of the art in the next few ‘news’ posts with comments enabled to facilitate the bidding. All bids start at $10 – a massive value for original and sometimes framed artwork!

Happy viewing, happy bidding, and thank you so much for supporting the arts and artists like me!
